Aftermarket Wheel Weight Comparison

Hey guys,

We had few sets of some of the popular wheels in stock: Advan RS, Volk TE37 and the HRE C90. We decided to measure the weights and share the information. Some wheels aren't NSX specific, but it will give you a better idea of the weights on certain wheels you are curious to find the weights on.

We will keep uploading with wheel weights when we get new ones in.

Yes, but as a vendor it's smart because most of us own a 2nd vehicle that the other wheels will fit

I agree completely, it does not make any sense at all. Maybe they are strong enough to put on a tank or something. Or maybe BBS is raking it in because they have built up their brand name from racing experience.

This is very interesting. Many wheels are quoted as much lighter than they reall are. It makes me want to order a set of wheels.

It probably depends from the wheel's offset.

This is true.

Many 1 piece wheels tend weigh more with lower offset in the same width due to the "extra" material on the hub.

Most of the Advans are cast aluminum and the Volks are forged aluminum.

Advans F7 and RZ-DF are forged aluminum.

You are correct with one more forged wheel from the Yokohama/Advan line up -- Advan AVS Model F15.

While this is probably true, I think because this is a "NSX" website, the posts should applicable to the NSX. Half of the photos and weights in this post seem to me to fit the "Off Topic" section more than the NSX Product Info section.

You could just easily have the other fitments on a website and just provide the link. . .

I think it's the opposite: the "higher" offset wheels have a thicker hub (more material) and weigh more.

Lower offset wheels actually have more hub material, since it pushes away from the hub. Although the "face" type is the same, the added material lowers the offset ; weighs more.

Hey, I liked your post. It has a lot of information about a wide variety of wheels that we may come across. Will make for a nice reference for future should one be interested in buying a set of wheels for their NSX.

And personally, I don't care at all that you listed some other wheels. I wonder if those who are complaining even fathom how much time this took for you to weigh these wheels, photograph them & upload... To complain that you didn't split out the other wheels & start linking to other locations/sites for their convenience, seems a little immature to me. Thanks for all of your efforts.

This is very good information.

I only have one remark though.
Most NSX owners will mount 17" and 18" wheels on their car.
Really, IMHO, 19" is too large for the NSX.
