As you of you know I've been kinda bored with my NSX lately....well this rear bumper will change things for me!

Who made this prototype for the widebody? And anyone willing to make a direct bolt on 02+ bumper for the non-widebody guys?

I LOVE THIS REAR - makes my stock rear look B O R I N G !!!!!

P.S Where can I find this magazine article?

Yes, PLEASE someone build a non-widebody version of this rear bumper for the open market!!! From what I've been seeing all year on this forum, this product seems to be the most wanted, especially for those who had their NSX for a while now. I may have to look into this myself and talk to my boat building fiberglass specialist friends, see if they can fab something up. Guess I need to acquire another bumper to base off of.

Yes I agree there is a big market for this rear bumper replacement if done right!

I will patiently wait....no rush but I would love to sport this rear end! IMO the NSX has one of the sexiest front/side profiles but it's always been the rear that needs the most "help"

This has been the most requested and pretty well much ignored body part for the NSX. There's an obvious demand, and the rear bumper will suit ALL YEARS of the NSX. I don't know why its not being developed. STMPO started work on one and lost interest. DF seems to be busy with their other marque's products. FXMD seems to be the obvious choice since most of the work has been done..just a little tweak to get it to adapt to the narrow body and they can rake in the $$$

GT-one had something similar "well maybe not, but it had the black middle look" back awhile ago but I don't see many pictures of their rear bumper floating around.

I think it'd be pretty awesome to have a rear bumper option but we all know how much interest there is when a product isn't out, and when someone finally produces it the sales don't fly up to expectations.

Whoever finally does build it, I think the originator of the design should get the first production one free of charge. Just throwing that out there.

Talk is cheap. These vendors need deposits to see any kind of traction towards this development.

I agree "talk is cheap" and I'm willing to put down a deposit for a bumper that looks exactly like the one I posted. I'm a shop owner and totally understand that the costs to produce this takes an investment.

always love the 02 rear with the diffuser, looks awesome, not to crazy that takes away from the lines of the NSX

I would be willing to put down a deposit also. Been waiting for this for a looong time.

Well then buy it. Downforce makes that diffuser.

I think the people in this thread are looking for something more extravagant.

Factor X if you are reading these post can you please make this part, for the non-wide body nsx. I love the look of the nsx, but I feel that the rear should be slightly more agrresive looking. Your rear bumper looks great. Some other vendors talked about this IDEA, but it was just talk, I won't mention which one. If you intend on doing this add me to the list. Thanks, Frank

Agreed. I will gladly place a deposit as well as long as it's a vendor that I know will actually PRODUCE the part and not just run off with deposits. :)

It may be easier for someone to make something like the df license plate holder but clips on the bumper somehow in cf, rather than replacing the entire bumper someone could just slap it on... Of course it'd be a slightly raised piece but if it's only 1/2 an inch or so that's not a huge deal. Just a thought.

Yes, we are scheduled to start the process the first week in January, and looking at a completion date near the end of the Q1 2011. It will be similar to our FX-TA1 widebody. It will be made with OEM exhaust termination points for ease of installation. For those that wish to have the center exhaust we will also make caps for the OEM exhaust points.

If anyone has any input on this, now is the time!

Can you post up a nicer close-up picture of your current wide-body rear bumper so we can look at it up close?

I think 2 top priorities for me and many others would be:

a) Maintain stock mounting + attachment points
b) Keep the exhaust openings in the stock locations (after all this is how the F430 looks)

thanks for doing this for the NSX community!

Yes, I to would like to see some more comprehensive photos of the FX-TA1 rear end. My only suggestion would be to ensure the sides are flush with the rear quarter panel seem and maybe square down a bit farther to flow and give a look similar to having rear spats installed on the OEM rear. Something simple, sleek, OEM in look on the sides, but to essentially "better fill" the lower rear corner of the car.

This time i think you should keep the concave lower sides (1) and the accented horizontal grooves (2) of the original.
It helps make the shape more interresting and not looking so much like a large chunk of plastic.
