I was using a cartridge filter from Canton on my last two NSXs. The filter body was aluminum and spun on as a regular filter would, but the bottom of the body had 4 allen bolts that held the bottom plate of the filter. This base was o-ringed and out popped out the 1 micron filter element.
Has anyone used this system? I am interested in using it again as I have a box of elements, but need to find out the size of the threads of the center where it threads on.
