Nsxprime- i have a cel 21 for v-tec solenoid. My car's a 91. Through prime search, i found a thread detailing dirt/gasket problems and ways to determine conductivity of solenoid, which mine failed- meaning the solenoid is dead, as per the instructions via the thread. 91 solenoids are nla, bringing my inquiry of retrofitting newer solenoid on a 91, unless 91's are still available, somewhere. I'm not fixing this myself, and have no real mechanical knowledge. Car's at a shop... Any help is greatly appreciated- ira

I know the vtec gasket is the same as the bseries Honda engine. The vtec solenoid is still available for the bseries so maybe worth investigating whether they are the same with different part numbers (one for Honda, one for acura)

Hkz- thanks for responding. Has anyone replaced the v-tec solenoid? With the b series? D'rather a definitive solution. Again, any info greatly appreciated- ira

RockAuto.com sells a solenoid for the 99 Accord V6 for $95 which might be worth a try. It may require swapping connector plugs. AIRTEX / WELLS 2T1156 {#TS1156.
Airtex used to sell the solenoids/housing assemblies for the NSX but Ithink it was discontinued or on backorder.
Also, the 3.2 solenoid should fit. Solenoids are easy to replace. I would also recommend replacing the filter and o-ring gasket while you're at it.
Do you know why it's not operating? Has anyone checked the circuit from the ECU? They the Vtec wires are standalone connectors on the ECU.

AirTex Wells website does show a TS1164 which is the entire solenoid/filter housing & connector bracket assembly, which was the only way Honda sold the part. This is a $450 plus part that you don't need! If you need to replace the solenoid then it's just the solenoid you need to get.
