I agree that the price of the GT-R will certainly increase year-over-year. Perhaps I should rephrase my comment; I believe that the new NSX will list for at least $125k in 2010/2011, if not considerably higher, making it much more expensive than the GT-R.
As for which one I'd prefer or actually spend my money on - that is a completely different question. Even at a much higher price over the GT-R, the new NSX may provide equivalent or better value. Or even if it isn't as good of a value, I may still prefer it.
When it comes to high-end sports cars, it really comes down to what you like. You can't really rationalize one make/model over another because if you were completely rational about it, you would realize that you don't need a high-end sports car at all! That's why I'm enthuiastic for anybody who shares my love of sports cars, whether they have a Corvette, Ferrari or anything in between. It's all good.
Grain of salt. Have to remember these are the same folks that said the replacement was supposed to be out almost 10 years ago.
I'm actually leaning toward other news in the rumor mill that the design might be scrapped. Economy is in the tank. Even Toyota seems to have shelved their LF-A car for now. They are letting Nissan take the economic hit and enjoy the red ink.

It's got a big V10 in the front... what? They're going to have to work hard to make it not understeer...
If they would have brought out the HSC, we could have all sold our NSX's to the high school kids going from RSXs, worked hard, saved and then bought the HSC.

Why is everyone all up in arms?? Thats not a pic of the NSX replacement....it's the honda CR-Z concept. I dont know why they put up a pic of the CR-Z while talking about the next gen NSX.

2 months ago, they proudly announced "We are completely sold out for all 2000 units of the Califonia's, and are very excited that this car is sold out".
I guess Ferrari thinks we forgot about the 4,000 cars they talked about for the last 24 months.

Next Acura NSX Wants To Beat Nissan GT-R
Looks as if Honda’s taking off the gloves. And Honda never takes off the gloves. Lexus makes a RWD, V8 sedan? We’ll stick with FWD and a V6 thank you very much. Those days, apparently, are gone. The new NSX (to be sold only as an Acura) will sport a 5.5-liter V10 which will be good for at least 600 hp and probably more. Why so much? Because Honda is fully committed to kicking the GT-R’s ass. And probably the ZR-1’s tuchas, too. And having a supercar that makes more than 100 horsepower more than Godzilla is a great first step. As to why they want to best the GT-R, no one knows for sure. But we’re hoping it has something to do with Soichiro Honda and Eiji Toyoda. Back in 1968 Mr. Toyoda (then CEO of Toyota) stood silently in front of the Honda 1300 protoype at the Tokyo Motor Show for a full ten minutes. Then he gathered all his engineers and white collar types around him and proceeded to scream, ”Honda’s car produces 100 horsepower with a 1300cc engine. Why can’t we do the same thing?” Though in this case it’s Honda’s CEO saying, “Every energy-drink addicted Gran Turismo junkie in the world has written on their Facebook page that they’d kill their sister for a GT-R. Oh man if Honda can beat Chevy at the same price that would be unheard of and truly ground breaking! Props where props are do as no one beats the Corvette at performance to performance dollars.
They already did. It's called SH-AWD.
Ferrari has set (as of October, 2008) California production at 2500-2800 units for 2009 and 3000 units for 2010. Apparently, all production for both years is already sold-out. I don't recall ever seeing a 4000 unit production number but reducing production to a level that produces a 2-year waiting list is smart.
With the California, Ferrari is nearing annual production of 10,000 units, with all of their cars pricing at about $200k and up. It is very likely that Ferrari sells more $200k vehicles than all other manufacturers combined. They own the high-end of the market.

indeed. This is the ugliest pice of sh*t i've ever seen. eff the new 'NSX replacement.' (cause it's definitely not worth calling it the new NSX) I'll say this again, why couldn't they have just modified this NSX's shape? Porsche has done it for how many years? and they're selling well! Chevy's done the same with the corvette!

The reason they couldn't use the existing NSX platform is probably because it wouldn't pass the crash test and accommodating any thing bigger than a V6.
The idea came from the Engineers of Honda.
The goal is to build a car that will eat other cars alive on the Ring.
To me & on my eyes, it looks pretty cool
