1/2 din EQ - SoundStream Q-DIGI
Visteon HD radio
Zune 80 for the heavy music load.

No dash cutting!

Here is a picture using a flash. The color is actually a better match.. The flash turn different texture to difference shades in photo.

update.
Changed out the crappy soundstream eq for a cheaper but better clarion eqs746 EQ. Soundstream literally burned out with smoke and all !!!

eq has 2 input so one goes to the HD radio reciever and one goes to a 3mm headphone cable for any mp3 player.

Honestly it is pretty low budget.
EQ - $89 retail
HD radio - $40 ebay
Belkin Rca/ 3mm headphone cable - $15
Misc RCA cable $20
Plastic panel and diy mounting - $10
MP3 player .. Dont you have like 10 of those sitting around? My best one now is the Zune 80
way under $200 w HD radio and Aux input installed.

Yes still running the same setup.

I just load up MP3's and playlist on my Andriod phone now. Love Andriod with Google maps GPS.

I would like to see pics as well. Instead of fixing a broken radio, I would just go this route. This doesn't seem like it costs much more than an ipod adapter setup anyway.

I really like this option. Were you able to control the MP3 player though the HD radio? Or was it simply connected through an aux jack? I'm not familiar with audio systems but to replicate this, I just need an equalizer, HD radio, and Aux hookup?

Also, how was the HD radio mounted? Did you have to fabricate brackets or did you simple mount it to the ABS plate?

I'd like to replicate this so any additional info would be great.

the HD radio face is about 1/2" deep. I fab brackets out of plummers tape. screwed in to the ABS plate.

Aux is thru the EQ. EQ controls Vol and fader and Sub out. since NSX doesnt really need 4 channel I used the fader as balance control.

Fkong, this is EXACTLY what I've been looking for! I've had my NSX for 18 months now and the original HU has never worked (Brian K deemed it a total loss). I'm tired of waiting for another one to pop up on prime as I'm sure the stock HUs are just about all on their last legs anyway. Were you able to use your stock speakers and subwoofer? I must admit, the fabrication piece has me a little wary but I've got to do something soon. Again, great work!

I run a 4 channel Alpine amp with Boston Acoustics separates and a 6" bazooka tube.

Does anyone know how to make this work with stock sub and speakers??
Heres what im thinking.
clarion eqs746 EQ
SOS Aftermarket hu, stock amp and speakers Harness
Ipod
3.5mm to RCA harness for ipod

Would that work? SOS harness to power EQ. Ipod rca harness into back of EQ. Use EQ for volume control.. Maybe the EQ can power on and off the ipod??

I dont know. Im just brainstorming. Point me to the correct direction.
