Nsx Replacement Designers Are Stuck

Is this pic Old news???

We need to get some sort of connection to the 'inside'.

It's not that damn difficult. The LF-A and GTR aren't the most beautiful cars to ever sit on the planet earth, far from it most would say.

But they are going to be good values for the money and offer something the other guys can't.

Make it resemble the HSC, give it a solid V8 with about 400hp in a MR chassis [even 375 would probably be acceptable if they keep the weight down], keep it at or under 3,000lbs, give it an updated but not too outlandish interior, and build it so well you can't break it just like the 'old' [and only] NSX. You don't need a bunch of awd junk that's more a part of your marketing plan than the driving experience. Price depends on a lot of factors like what transmissions are offered, if it's going to be a v8 or v10, how much cf is used, etc.

Don't think too damn hard. You aren't going to make it faster than the GTR no matter how much you make it cost [or how much goofy AWD crap you put on it] and it's probably not going to be as advanced technologically as the LF-A. Who cares? Sell it for 20k more than the GTR and more than that less than the LF-A. Their current plat forms are so boring it's sad. The TL is great but it's not sporty. The RL has some cool features but it's simply outclassed by the competition on almost every aspect. The MDX is the only acura vehicle I'd even recommend to most people I know, and I have owned MANY acuras. Imagine how lame it must look to people that aren't biased towards acura!?!?

That was actually very funny! I love the lead designer's hairdo - it looked to be simultaneously bald, a pony tail and a mohawk.

WHOA - you guys need to lay off. dave has been with honda for a LONG time, and had input in the original NSX, including the seats.

i can see why the team is having trouble living up to the NSX name..... anybody would, including pininfarina.... (although that ferrari concept is the hotness  )

Well then, why don't you ask him why Honda keeps kicking us in the balls?

Come on Honda...we really need to get back to something like this:

That is such a pretty car...I think I'd just change the rear window (b or c pillar? whatever it's called) a little.

I'd be selling my '91 right now for my down payment if they'd make it! (as long as it isn't over $150k that is...)

I agree. They'd have a winner with those changes and then just add a buttress from the roof back to the top of the fender.

Regarding Post #8...

QUICK! Someone throw a Honda badge on that thing and start selling it!@#!!#

Hmmm...good idea...quick, make something (first, give it some NSX lines and be sure to remove the horsey)...
<br />
<img src="http://www.vf2ss.com/transfer/hybrid.jpg" border="0" alt="" /><br />
then slap a emblem on there (JDM of course...and must be red)...
<img src="http://www.vf2ss.com/transfer/emblem.jpg" border="0" alt="" /><br />
then upgrade the spoiler to black carbon fiber (original was white, but at least carbon fiber...)
<img src="http://www.vf2ss.com/transfer/spoiler.jpg" border="0" alt="" /><br />
do some major engine upgrades...
<img src="http://www.vf2ss.com/transfer/spoiler.jpg" border="0" alt="" /><br />
oh...wait, you can't see those...Get new sideskirts (wingswest)...
<img src="http://www.vf2ss.com/transfer/wingswest.jpg" border="0" alt="" /><br />
then decide to take off the emblem...
<img src="http://www.vf2ss.com/transfer/wingwest.jpg" border="0" alt="" /><br />
then decide those sideskirts weren't aggressive enough and install Stacey's sideskirts (and reinstall emblem)...ah...that's much better...
<img src="http://www.vf2ss.com/transfer/staceys.jpg" border="0" alt="" /><br />
...more engine upgrades...
...then some HID upgrades for the existing HID since it wasn't white enough...
<img src="http://www.vf2ss.com/transfer/hids.jpg" border="0" alt="" /><br />
...then finally, the ducted hood upgrade (and tens of thousands of dollars later)...and voila! (...with still more and more upgrades to come.)

The new NSX-V (for voila)

<img src="http://www.vf2ss.com/transfer/ductedhood.jpg" border="0" alt="" /><br />

My point? Here's a thought, maybe if the new NSX looks terrible, we can just mod the heck out of it so it looks good!

Wallet says ouch.

LoL neat photoshoping though.

Not hard add a lil more NSX lines...what am I talking about, They need Uehara(sp) back.

I'll take an HSC with a V6, and bring the TypeR to the U.S.
This is what I want.

They can't find a design for the NSX, because they chose to do a FR layout to be with the rest of the bandwagon groupie. The car is going to cost over 100k mostlikely, so you might it as well keep it in an expensive setup. Their is nothing cheap about a V10.

He may have had good input to the NSX, but you still have to love his hair!

My problem with the video - both he and the senior VP of Honda (John Mendel) were all marketing-speak and didn't say anything substantive. Claims that Acura currently leads luxury car styling and technology (yeah, right). And that the ASSC would rival Bentley and Maybach (sure it will). Could Dave's closing comment that the ASSC "hints at the direction where Acura styling might be headed in the future" be any less comittal?

Drool. Pretty please Honda with sugar and a down payment on top:biggrin:

I guess the bad thing is they can't make that body style work with a front engine design:frown:

sure you can, just turn the chasis around.

If this was 1996 or 1997 and Honda was answering Ferrari's 355 with a more powerful V8 of their own, then hell yeah! Otherwise when looking at this design and the cars of today I don't think it would meet crash standards. Compare the 300ZX to the 350Z, and the 355 to the 430 and you'll see that the body panels on the present day cars are much higher, as if imitating a tub of some sort. I hate this trend, by the way, and would much rather see an evolution of the NSX design rather than another bathtub-mobile.

If this is the case, Aston Martin V8 Vantage here I come. I'll find a way to get more power out of it and call it a day.
(Oh, and I'll keep my old NSX for special occasions) :)

FORGIVE THE RANT:

Honda has definitely lost its way. Every time I see another release like this, I can't help asking myself in an elevated tone "How hard is this?"

It is supposed to be a FLAGSHIP car. You know what the flagship cars from all the other automotive manufacturers have in common? They are taken seriously - either as a one off (F40, F50, CGT, Enzo, McF1, Comparo, McMerc, GT40, etc) or as an ongoing PROGRAM (AM DB, MB SL, Vette, Ferrari series, GTRs, 911s, Zcars, M3, M5 etc). Pick one and DO IT.

It has been 18 years since the original NSX launch, 12 years since the NA2 was launched, 7 years since the final cosmetic tweaks and 3 years since the last production model year. Nobody saw this coming? Why is the next one ALWAYS 3 years away?

Set a design goal, set benchmarks, fund it and if you can't figure out the styling call the guys at Pininfarina. Hire somebody with a little passion who knows WTF is going on and enable them to succeed! Its not exactly hard to get a car guy fired up about a project like this.

Maybe I am reading too much into it, but I can definitely see a culture that would encourage someone as loyal, talented and driven as Mr. Uehara to call it quits out of frustration.

I love my NSX, but I honestly don't see owning any new Honda's for a long time. Sad, considering they were always my first choice in the 80s and 90s.

There, now I feel better.

I've stopped caring (as much as before) regarding the "NSX replacement" or "Next Gen NSX". Unless it is priced under $50k, I can't afford it.

I've become content with the hope that, in a few years down the line, I will be able to purchase a nice black 02+ NSX. Sure the GTR, and whatever $30k fast four-door box that will be out then, will drive circles around the NSX, still. There are plenty of cars that will drive circles around my faithful '91. It doesn't make me smile any less when I open the garage door and see a black beauty sitting there waiting for me. erm....and waiting for a good detailing that I just can't find the time for *sigh*

Some of you guys have to write directly to honda and includes photoshop pictures / help to them, because here is good pictures & photoshop pic. about what should look a like future nsx  .
If they are missing as it seems, help Acura/Honda to provode to us new NSX

-pegi-

Because the ASC was like a turd on wheels, it made the HSC more desirable, which i think, didnt look good either. Better then the ASC, but not worth it.

Front engine GT <--- new nsx... YIKES!!!!!!!

I have no idea what Honda is doing, but me 2007 Civic Type R also sux. Its well made and full of options, but the Type R feeling is nowhere to be found.
