Omg...chp Impound My Car....need Advice

It always cracks me up when there are these double standards. The police can record you and use it against you in a court of law, but you cannot record them and use it to protect yourself in that same court of law

<sigh> There is zero expectation of privacy when talking to an officer: zero. You can record them and they can record you, there is no law broken on either side. You can use all of this in court, by either side.

The only stretch of a double standard is they can record you even if they are working undercover and/or you don't know you are dealing with the police. However, you cannot record an individual officer not acting in scope of his duties and there is an expectation of privacy or not dealing with the public.

You guys either watch too much TV, or not enough. I can't tell. Most of this discussion is based on ignorance.
