Should I buy an NSX or Viper?

Primers...I know it may sound silly to some of you considering that you are NSX owners or fans, but I am very torn on this issue. I don't have experience with either car (planning on driving both soon) but from the hours and hours of obsessing, this is what I've come to. I love the engineering and reliability aspect of the NSX. The F1 inspiration and quality build makes it great choice and the fact I don't have to worry about the car if I want to use it more than for a weekend driver makes me very happy. I'm only home on the weekends becuase I travel for my job, but I want to DRIVE my new toy. I will admit that the V6 is a turn off and the somewhat boring styling makes me wonder if I would be happier with a Viper. The Viper, with the massive V10 and unrefined manners make it also very appealing. I will admit that the viper is a little intimadating but I think that after racing school, I will be able to handle it. The thing that scares me about the viper is the reliability and the fact that Dodge makes it. There is probably a reason why you don't see many vipers with over 50,000 miles for sale. Will I feel like the NSX has enough power and not just refinement? I want to know that I can burn some punk teenager with a V8 Mustang. The problem is this, my heart says viper but my mind says NSX. Will my heart be happy with an NSX?

Nobodt will be able to answer that until you drive them both. I like Vipers, but compared to my NSX a Viper feels like it is coming apart at the seams. Not to mention that the V-10 sounds terrible due to the firing pattern.

To each their own.

You ask NSX Prime members if you should get a NSX or a Viper. Yeah, get a Viper.

Well depends on where you are located,, the Viper has no AC, no radio, sounds like crap,, they offered the AC and radio on special orders, so they are not standard, cant get parts for them, and if you do happen to get parts for it your repair bill will be in a class above Ferrari, A guy I know not a friend of mine had one,, his was in the shop and his buddy let him borrow his NSX till it was fixed,,
he got it back from the shop sold the car now he has an NSX,, he said its like night and day,, now about the NSX,, the parts for the NSX are still expensive but not as bad as the VIPER,, the NSX is a Daily Driver and you will have more fun on the road with it since it will actually be running and not in the shop,, Fuel economy Blows the viper outta the water, More color choices than Viper, its made by Honda, not DODGE THAT PURCHASE,, and if you have ever been to a car show while an NSX is next to a VIPER the NSX steals the show,, Every Viper owner I have seen have been 70+ years old, and the only other viper i saw was a young guy looked like the mechanic test driving the customers car,, the viper is cool to those NASCAR Fans,, but in the real world the NSX is the winner,, thats my Bias opinion though

If you asking yourself this question it means that NSX is not a good option for you.

Neither ,I say mustang nice solid axle gt 500.

I loved the post - oh no not this shit again.....lol. I was dying. Of course my first thought was tell this guy to buy a viper. Yep - then I saw the mustang comment and the solid rear axel - yeah buy the mustang. Then I saw Shawn's post and said well at least Shawn is being nice enough to answer this guy seriously but after all THIS IS THE NSX SItE - if you want another opinion go to the viper site.

I know you know that - man there is nothing anyone can say - go drive them. I'm not going to try and convince you of anything. I went to buy the car and I hadn't done anything but sat in one and reved it up. But I don't like big muscle cars - I like light manuverable, tossable, smooth sleek cars. A rapier over a broad sword - is this sinking in?

Drive em - you will learn quickly!

One is cute, skinny, sophisticated, very capable in bed, a sweetie if you know how to "turn her on"

The other is HOT, big boobs, big butt, more raw, hard to handle in bed, temperamental, but when dominated can be awesome .....

Kinda like Jessica Biel vs COCO (Ice-T woman) ..

One thing though, both turn heads

Wow, tons of bad info in this post. AC was only optional on the first few years 92-95 and on ACRs. As for relability, Vipers are near bullet proof. They do not have Dodge dealers where you live, how many NSX parts does your local Acura Dealer stock? Both cars require the parts to be special ordered. I might look old but I am a hair under 70.

Now when you say Viper what year are you talking about? The difference between a 1992 and 2008 is night and day. To be honest I am not sure how you can cross shop the two vehicles as they are about as opposite as you can get. Drive them both and you will know which one you want.
