The PERFECT NSX Dash setup, who's got it?

When I say perfect, I mean a dash that maintains the OEM lines but also has all the functions of the latest gadgets (GPS, Bluetooth, Ipod, DVD, XM Radio, etc)

I've been looking at various NSX audio setups and it seems the big 3 are:

1) Single DIN CD player with NAV POD
2) Double DIN DVD Unit in dash
3) Single DIN CD with aftermarket gauges, etc

Each one seems to have it's disadvantages and pluses so I'm looking to see who has done the BEST dash setup so far?

Post up ONE good picture of your dash and list out the reasons why it's good or bad.....would be a good thread to see a complilation of dash setups!

Please keep the chatter down and just post your setup - I'm hoping this will help everyone when they decide to go aftermarket.

(Yes I will post mine when it's done)

thanks
rick

i LOVE THIS SET UP!

I have a DVD/CD headunit on the Bottom
It projects DVD's onto the Nav Pod Screen, Newer models will run your blue tooth phone device. THe Face Plate does not wash out in the sun like the Screens do and allows the easy functionality of a normal headunit that is not inter tangled with navigation which is one of the best features!!

The Din above that one is my Processor Controls, It keeps them separate from the rest of the workings and allows me to make adjustment with out constantly hopping menues to get different tracks or scenes from movies. or having the Navigation pop up on the screen in intervien in my processor changes.

Above that is the ALpine 770 Touch Screen in the Nav pod, I have it connected to the Black Bird nav unit that I can transfer between cars, Holds 4 gigs of music and has a 5 hour battery life for hand held hikes/bike rides or rides in other peoples car that don't have GPS. The Screen also plays out the DVDs from the Headunit and shows my back up camera when I put the car into reverse.

I relocated my Cigarette Outlet into the Glove Box and now have room for 2 or 3 gauges below when I finaly go forward with FI

Down Fall to the set up: No ash tray??? but im not a smoker so I don't care.

+4... Vrooooom is the MAN.... as in, the guy goes extre lengh and do the things himself...and he chooses some awesome looking things to do....and very difficult too....

Just finished installing last night

Good:
Everything ;)

All critical information in easy to read places, high contrast displays, fully configurable, can display any engine parameters, can change engine maps, etc. on the fly, Navi is at eye level, antenna is more powerful than regular set top unit, configuration is upgradable, customizable, and looks OEM.

Bad:
Nothing really, some configuration bugs being worked out, doesn't make me coffee (yet)

"Perfect" in my eyes, here's mine. I like double din setups as I'd like to have in-dash GPS, but surely the glare is a problem. My car came with an empty NAV pod, but I didn't like the look of the "hump" in the middle of the dash, so I sold it.

ChitownNSX, your setup is perfect!

Who did the install and did they have to cut the dash at all? I would like to do something like that but still be able to put everything back to stock if needed.

NSX-Files, I guess you always know what time it is...hehehe ~clean setup!

Yeah, some might think I'm obsessive compulsive by having two clocks - just to be sure I don't miss Judge Wapner (ala' Rainman/Raymond Babbit). Actually, I usually have the display show the ipod's album art, track name, album name, volume level, etc. But when it's turned off, it defaults to the clock display.

This was a couple of years ago but currently it is painted silver to match the car exterior and I am getting two gauges installed this week by Cody at LoveFab!

I went with this as I wanted something simple, all in one and clean lines with a slight NSX-R twist. I had my console done in Black alcantara/suede which matches other items I have had re-done in alcantara/suede

The system itself is touch screen & push button, it has CD/DVD/TV/USB/Memory Card plus the option for nav and camera if needed.

The conversion, LHD->RHD, was necessary for optimal gauge placement, and to avoid radiation from the side-scanning radar (its on the driver side).

whaat ????? why do you need side scanning radar and sonar??:redface:

Thats a bit out there man lol

here is mine... One of the famous Tamoske's CF center consoles:biggrin:
