I owned a BRZ with the intent of using it as my primary DD. Mind you, LA streets are horrid. Driving dynamics are great however, you will notice the econobox feel coming from a BMW. You need to come to grips with it. I sold it because the rear suspension comfort is terrible, barely acceptable in stock state. It's pretty much shitty if lowered. There is so little travel in the rear dampers that you really notice it on anything but smooth roads. It does get good MPG (low 30s) if you keep the high efficiency tires on there.
You should test drive one.
I've driven Matt Farrah's Focus ST. While not the Fiesta, I was pretty darn impressed with the Focus.
Are you on crack, blind, forgetful or straight lying? Matt Farah has a Fiesta ST... Unless there's some parallel universe or time gap I missed where Matt has/had a Focus and not a Fiesta, idk how you claim "drove" it and dont remember.

thanks kaede,
that's really helpful, especially from someone who has basically the same cars i do (plus one more.) i'm going to drive an st and see if it's fun,and doesn't feel like too much of a downgrade.
edit-a question-would you be comfortable having a fiesta st after an m3,or would it feel too cheap?
Back to the question at hand tho ill answer in 2 ways, first the original, then the question above
Between BRZ and the FiST, ive driven both, definitely get the FiST for a multitude of reasons:
A - you'll save money in just about every aspect, gas, repairs, and price
B - it's funner (totally acceptable use of a non existent word) bc of forced induction
C - the BRZ just feels slow, and it took me a while to realize why, its because the chassis is so good that it just NEEDS more, plus it has the torque of a hamster wheel
D - the BRZ interior just seems so incredibly cheap to me and im not a fan of the seats
But to the question above, it will feel cheap, but its new and you will be fine even tho it will be a massive change in quality. And what i mean is, if you go from your e92 and into the NSX and dont worry about having certain interior this and that, then you'll have even less of a problem with the FiST
