Prospeed NSX Turbo Kit

Re: Prospeed NSX Turbo Kit!

It was great talking to all of you at the meet. I will bring the NSX at the next meet for everyone to check it out. Thanks guys! PM me if you have anymore questions.

I plan to offer the INTRO PRICE to the first 3 customers. PM me if you are interested.

That would be good. I might actually make the next meet

Re: Prospeed NSX Turbo Kit!

The turbo kit looks good, how many hours would it take for the install and how difficult is it to do the install.

Thanks Manh! It would take approximately 8 to 10 hours for full installation. Someone who has access to a lift could do in it less time of course. Since you're local I can off you full support and installation for you or anyone in the So. Cali. area.

Re: Prospeed NSX Turbo Kit!

Brain any updates, with pictures?

Re: Prospeed NSX Turbo Kit!

we're going to time the install when my car is going in for brian's prospeed turbo makeover, which is right after his car is out of the shop.

it should be about a days work for the install.
me and brian have done ITR, H22 swaps and builds all day long in the past, but now focusing on his turbo.

we'll have all the photos you'll need and even make videos of the install just to make installation a breeze. installer error should be zero when you get your kit - for the out of state guys.

but for the guys that are bringing their cars in, be thankful you got a great installer and tuner.
you guys haven't seen quality until you see this kit.
the people that are involved with this kit are the best in the industry.
there's a lot of extra features on this turbo kit that you guys will really appreciate.
i dont want to kill any surprises so you guys just gotta wait.

anyone considering should put in your deposits now so you can save your place in line.

Re: Prospeed NSX Turbo Kit!

The Spoon NSX-R GT does have said A2A intercooler design/location/ducting, but at a conservative ~400ps, which is noticeably less than 400whp.

For that power level, that layout should be fine. I look forward to seeing the completed version. Prospeed: where in SoCal are you located? Any plans on Time Attacking your car? - Great to see more turbo NSXs out at the track!

Don't forget that us NA2 guys will have to drop the front header to get the oil pan swapped. So figure in the extra time and PITA for that.

Show me the power eric...Then I'll show you the $$.

I like to see how the piping works, I'm about simplicity, quality, and over all value...I'll be anxiously waiting.

I agree with you that for around that HP the A2A setup with be sufficient with proper ducting. We are located in the Orange County Area. We have thought about turning the car to a time attack car but right now we might just do track events and maybe graduate to time attack down the road. We might be interested in getting our kit on a customer car for time attack but with our A/W setup. When is your next race event? I would love to check out the Factor X car in person. I love that car!

I know what you mean! It also sucks for the NA1 header guys with after market headers like topspeed or comptech as well! If you do it enough it's not too bad I guess

Here are some early development pics of the intercooler brackets. We took a lot of time with just the brackets keeping them functional and light weight. All have rubber vibration dampers to prevent noise and for normal movement. They will be powder coated black.

This is the basic layout including the turbo intake pipe going up and through the fender with a AEM DRY FLOW filter. One of the best air filters on the market. They have a built in velocity stack in their filter which is nice.

This pic is without the heat shield and air duct. The air duct will improve the efficiency of the intercooler. We decided to run a larger A2A intercooler and stagger the intercooler (diagonally) and run a duct to it just like the Turbo Le Mans Prototype (LMP) 1 cars. High quality reflective heat tape will reflect the majority of the heat generated by the turbo and exhaust. We spent a lot of time paying close attention to the details of this kit. I will update you guys soon with more pics! Thanks for the comments everyone!

Re: Prospeed NSX Turbo Kit!

Incredible package and pricing. Making me want to come out of nsx retirement, dump the CTSC and get this.

Fixed it for ya.

Our next Time Attack is the Redline event at Willow Springs International Raceway next weekend the 30-31st. Hope you can make it!

Fantastic bracket fabrication man... 2 thumbs up there....

Re: Prospeed NSX Turbo Kit!

prospeed, Do you think there enough space behind intercooler for couple 10'' fans?

Thanks Stmpo! I appreciate the compliment!

Yes, there is enough for some spal fans. The 7.5 fans that pull 440cfm that are commonly used on MR2 intercoolers will work fine except we have enough room to put 2 spal fans comfortably. That's a good idea Doc_tai. It would help keep temperature consistent through stop and go traffic. The spal fans go for around $55 to $65 each.

When we finally decided to put the ATA intercooler in the rear we understood that there would be compromises ( one of the few downsides of a mid-engine design). We feel that it is in the best place for the size intercooler we wanted to run. Someone asked us why we didn't put the intercooler in front of the turbo? We felt that having it placed between the exhaust manifold (red hot), turbo, and muffler would have heat all around the intercooler with not a good exit wasn't an option. Having the intercooler in the rear we felt having a heatshield that keeps the heat from one side instead of all around would be worth it. The NSX has a good rear exit especially if you have an 02 rear valence or a Taitec rear diffuser. We feel the low pressure from the rear and the duct collecting air up and through the intercooler and out the opening in the rear valence should be enough to keep the temps in check.

OIL BREATHER TANK

Here is the Oil Breather Tank we offer for the NSX (You just need one). It's an option you can add to the Prospeed Turbo kit. It will come with all necessary bracket, fittings and hoses going to both valve covers to help with increase crankcase pressure from forced induction. The Oil Breather Tank is made of aluminum, internally baffled and come with a drain to get rid of the excess oil over time.

Here are some more pics. I'll have the car on the dyno shortly with HP figures. The jigs for everything are almost done.

Looking good, Brian!

I see what you did there. I think that it was good choice. :D

 After consulting a specialist I ended doing what I DID!

I tried to design the kit to have the least amount of bends and widest amount of radius on all bends to reduce pressure drop in the pipes.
