Where are all the Production deliveries ??

Those of us who have had our Gen 1 cars a long time remember comments like " there is that fake Ferrari " and " that car has no soul ". Sales were dismal and the car was considered a failure in those days; it is only after 25-30 years that it is appreciated. History is repeating itself with the Gen 2 car. The difference now is that I don't see much future as a collectible for todays cars in 25-30 years. Transportation will be much different than it is now and the car hobby will pretty much be history so the Gen 2 car will probably never be recognized for the excellent car that it is. Any first generation Apple product will be more collectible than a car.

Thanks for the numbers.... Astounding really. How can some of these cars hold value long term with those high production numbers???
The NSX, both Gen 1 & 2 certainly look rare in comparison. I would never have imagined the Ferrari numbers to be that high.
only ones on that list that will hold value are F-cars.

because F-car.

To clarify, when I say that I bought the NSX as an investment, I'm referring to my expectation that it will hold its value well, not necessarily that it will become a high priced collectible.

But I might disagree about collectible cars in 25 years. Once Google changes their name to Skynet and AI decides to destroy humans in order to save humans, I think people will want super fast cars without autonomous driving capabilities that can be used to override human control.

And I don't think we can count on John Connor...he isn't looking so great.

We have assumed control...we have assumed control...we have assumed control...

ok me and my red barchetta on the way......

I like the maple syrup from Canada as well

After Red Barchetta let's play some Reflektor from another Canadian Band

hmmm...hhmmmmm.....hhmmmmmmm...

Come to Canada, home of Rush, Poutine, skidoos and vast lands that the T2000 wont be bothered to roam about ;) - not worth their effort!

This ex-pat Torontonian is worried Justin will destroy the country without any third party interference. Guaranteed income for all! That's enough to make me want to return to the Motherland. And don't forget Alfie Zappacosta -- glad to see he is still around. And then, quite seriously, there is this -- https://international.gc.ca/history-histoire/people-gens/ken_taylor.aspx?lang=eng Ken Taylor was a true hero. Important to remember who your real friends are. Sadly memories are sometimes very short.

Best,
Jeff

Well, it was not my intention to create a La Ferrari controversy! I was just making a point to absurdity. I will concede that if you set out to build 10 $3million cars and sell all 10, then you consider that a success. I was trying to make the point that sales #'s alone are not necessarily indicative of failure. As we have all discussed, there are dozens of reasons why the NSX is viewed as a failure. I think the failures are more related to marketing, pricing, time to market, etc. than the fact that the car itself is a failure.

When I look at the car in the garage, or drive it, the word failure never enters my mind. Same goes for the reactions I get out and about or at the local car show.....

And yes, parts and servicing could be an issue years down the road. Low production can be good or bad. Time will tell..... A reason many supercars get sold with low miles. But many of us are banking on good old Honda reliability. I have also always believed that Honda wanted to keep HP at a reasonable level, as higher HP increases stress and potential for breaking engine parts. At the end of the day, the NSX is just a car..... I think finding someone to work on the engine will not be a problem down the road. Acura losing interest in the car 10 years from could certainly be a possibility. Guess we'll find out.

And BTW, I will likely never be a Ferrari, Lamborghini, or McLaren owner...... Just not my gig..... GT3 or GT3RS possibly, but not sure it will ever be in my financial reach.

B & B, see you at the wheelchair races in 20 years, hopefully not sooner.....

I'm with you on the NSX being a winner! We had plans to pickup a Performante Spyder but wife loves the NSX so much there is really no justifiable reason to have both cars right now!

Life is about doing what makes "you" feel good and enjoying the fruits of the labor. Sometimes thinking the grass is greener on the other side is just a fallacy as many will agree. Don't be greedy unless that greed is backed by reason :)

Will just leave this shot here:

31 is REALLY good ~ going to share this with our GTR and R8 buddies!~

Car that is missing on this list should be the McLaren 570s

Lexus LC and LFA are really not same class of the car nor is the AMG GT....

I agree but I have not seen a handy source of McLaren US sales data.

The list is based more I cars I am interested in and that are semi unicorn products

Nice bump for Jan numbers. I was hoping they'd do better due to the Mid-model cycle refresh. I wonder how many of those are due to the Orange color change.

Considering there are 21 Thermal Orange 2019s sitting on dealer floors listed for sale I would tend to think most of those numbers are due to the color.

The update

I only call the Specialist every couple of months these days as the amount of action is nearly nothing.

They did not know about the rides associated with the Super Bowl (awesome Patriots victory).

https://twitter.com/J_FranklinMyers/status/1089630754097659909

They are not informed about what color cars are selling so they cannot tell if the orange is driving sales up.

No idea if the currently sales numbers are making anyone happy at Honda.

No budget expected for promotional activities in 2019.

No news on any changes to the cars for 2020.

They were not informed about the current financial incentives. Essentially these guys are being left out on an Island, yet they are charged with being the face of the NSX brand to the public.

It appears that some internet forum folks are causing some real consternation within corporate.

Back to the ownership experience. After more that 2 weeks of the car stuck in the garage due to bad weather, snow and ice and then water on the roads, I took the car out today and had an absolute blast with it.

Sounds like these specialists are top notch best of the best.

I find the Specialists to be great

It is pretty tough to be in an exciting market like supercars and not have sufficient corporate support with the product itself, or the marketing/promotion/internal communication resources to do all you want to for your customers

Then you get a few internet fill in the blanks that cause problems and that just compounds the misery of the work situation

Let's try it this way. There is some dude who represents himself as trying to consolidate all the info (issues, etc.) for the forum folks, who may may have some other reasons/purposes for the information that are not in the best interest of Honda.

It’s time they wake up and realize there are some owners who have been treated poorly. I’ve been making payments on my car since October 2018 and the car has pretty much been a brick in my garage. And add to it the number of false promises that have been made to me is even more upsetting. Luckily the AG office in Florida has approved my Lemon Law case and I now have a court date. The AG office did tell me that sometimes the manufacturer does settle outside the court. Until then, I have to keep making payments on a car that can’t be driven safely over 40mph.

I don't believe the Specialists have an issue with you

You just were unlucky and got Napletonned. Hopefully other folks will see what happened and skip that dealership, and all nice folks will move out of FL where all the crazy azz folks accumulate.
