Why the 2022 NSX Type-S May Be a Sham

I see your point. Personally speaking... 1000hp is just undriveable for me w/o a lot of clever nannies (boost by gear, etc)

I agree with you on the 1000 HP point but how could they sell a 700 HP NSX against a Tesla Roadster (for example) that could be packing 1200 HP for the same money?

I would also say that I am super interested in a Lucid and am sitting on the sidelines waiting for their trimotor version. They have 400 HP and 680HP eMotors so it would be at least 1200 HP and maybe 1480.

I know it makes no sense but would still be extra fun to have.

Can we please celebrate the nose job??? The beak is gone! That's worth a million dollars haha

You don't know how right you are.

Back when the NSX Specialist would feed me intel, he mentioned that the new bumpers (that were designed a few years ago) cost $1million from design to tooling.

I think the redesigned exterior plastics are worth the type S hype. Let's see some tests for actual performance changes. Remember the 3.2 while only 20 hp more is truly the more desirable v6 for first gen especially with the 6 speed...

I read through the entire press release and must say that I am liking what this car represents. As I thought before they really finessed this car. I am now in the process of finding a dealership that will sell me one.

I’d probably buy one if they have $25k off… but if they don’t I’ll wait till they sit on dealerships at 112 of 350 sold and wait till they add Incentives. Would never pay MSRP but people love being the first and fall for this all the time.

My understanding is that Acura requires a $10k deposit from an actual buyer before they will allocate a car to a dealer. So, in theory, there shouldn't be any sitting on the lot.

So if they can only sell 150 then the other 200 just doesn’t get built… interesting…

speculation as to what happens if all allocations are not ordered...I don't know:confused:

Some people ( OK - maybe only one ) may buy one because they are tired of waiting for their Tesla Roadster which, so far, has amounted to nothing more than a multi-year $50,000 deposit.

Is the mothership expecting a 300% sales increase? I think (I hope) we have time to muse over this.

I am ready for the firesale if that happens because I have a feeling they'll build all 350.

yep they never sold anywhere near 30/month consecutively...plus the last of the breed may turn some buyers away..again it comes down to what dealers have trained techs..me thinks they should open another training camp...

There has been a lot of fine tuning of the S. It was interesting Acura revised the front drive ratio which was a 20% gear reduction. More grip on launch a bunch more torque.

I got my call today from the dealer. They expect to have 3-4 cars based on their allocation. The want a $20K market adjustment. I"m number 3. Hummm!

Big stretch for the NSX. Techs are dropping fast around here with no intention to replace. And dealers are not up to the task other than a fast buck.

Let’s see how long until trunk money shows up.

Still love my 17 and no plans to move on yet this has dissolved into an unfortunate situation.

Final year of US NA2 - 2005-2007, 266 units
Final year of US NC1(S) - 2022 - ?, 300 units

The next few months gives us an idea when the final one is sold.

I really like the aesthetic updates. I am not going to notice the hp increase.
