immediately after katrina struck, our family donated for the human victims. now we'd like to donate $'s specifically for the pets who were displaced, injured, etc. are any of you aware of a katrina pet-specific fund we should consider?

thx in advance.

ugh, how do I say this w/out sounding like a jerk... i'll try, no disrespect meant if it comes off like that

for me... until all the people are home/safe/New Orleans and areas are fixed, I'm gonna keep trying to help the people.

But, I'm sure there ARE some pet donation places you could donate to.

Humane Society, they have a donate thing

and, of course, my LEAST favorite activist group, looks like you can do just what you want to do :)

happy pet-helping :)

Please do not donate to PETA, no matter what their website says the money will go to. Trust me on this one.

(again :) thanks for the feedback & suggestions, everyone.

my sense is most folks understand the basic desire - and some would say, obligation - to help the pets of the impacted area... it seems a small thing to do in return for the unconditional acceptance and affection they have brought to the humans in their lives.

i know i would want our two cats, two dogs and hundreds of birds that transit through our property, taken care of in time of need.

thanks again, everyone.
