Audi R8 - One less - Deadly Crash

Not wearing a seatbelt in a moving vehicle makes me feel uneasy. Kind of like standing on the edge of a tall building.

Switching tail lights vs. brake lights

Has anyone reversed the tail lights and brake lights? I think the NSX would look much better from the rear at night if the outside triangular lights were on all the time w/ the headlights and the two rectangular lights toward the center were the brake lights. Maybe this configuration is...

What shop in bay area can install NSX-R bars and sway bar?

Hi all, Any shop recommendations in the bay area for NSX-R chassis bar and front sway bar install? Auto Innovations turned me down. So did Don @ Hilltop. I've had work done at both shops before. Thanks, any recommendations appreciated.

Thinking of moving to Tennessee (Nashville)

Okay y'all (hehe). Not to sound like a downer, but I'm kind of miserable. I've grown up in California and as much as I like it, I'm looking for a change of pace for a couple of years. I've spent the last 10 years in SD, LA, and SF. Big city life has got me down. The draw of inexpensive...

    Car Stolen!!!!

SF has a horrible auto theft problem. The other day I saw with a note taped to the rear window of someone's Civic: "THERE IS NOTHING VALUABLE IN THIS CAR. PLEASE DO NOT BREAK MY WINDOW."

    Anyone live in SF?

I live in SF and work from home so I rarely drive, but I wouldn't want to drive around SF every day - honestly a lot of the streets are terrible. I would say you've got nothing to worry about as far as hills and inclines go. With the exception of a very few that are just *ridiculous* (but...

Thanks buddy, I know his number, I've been to his shop before. But it's the weekend, and I was wondering if anyone knew off the top of their head.

How much does Don @ Hilltop near SF charge for a 90k service?

Hi All, It's the weekend and I'm mapping out my maintenance budget for the next 2 months... so since I can't call my mechanic, I'm wondering if anyone knows... I have an '00 with 37k miles, and want to do a combined 30+60+90k service. This includes all the filters, fluids, plus timing belt...

    WTF, my window *cable* broke!

All, Okay, just found the FAQ page on the window regulator assembly (where did the link to the FAQ go?). My cable-end holder is fine, being a late model with the reinforced blocks. Looks like I'll be giving Window Regulators USA in Brooklyn a call. FYI my car is a 2000 with 37k miles. Oddly...

    WTF, my window *cable* broke!

Hey everyone... My window fell down today and I thought it was the regulator, but I took my door apart with my friends and it turns out the cable broke right next to the spool (attached to the motor). Is there an easy/cheap fix for this (such as a new spool assembly), or am I forced to buy a...

Which tires to use for Seattle?

Goodyear F1 GS-D3's on my car here in San Francisco. I like these tires a lot! Not as much rain as Seattle but it still gets wet.

    San Francisco thoughts

I moved to SF from southern California last year. If you have the means to live in the city, I highly recommend it. I've got an apartment in pacific heights and I like it so much I am considering buying propery in SF within the next year or so. In my opinion it's like living in Manhattan...

    Movie - Redline

Casino Royale is actually a pretty good film - very good for an action flick. A whole new direction for 007 films, really. They lost most of the cheese and effects, and added a whole lot more plot and acting.

A shop to install front swaybar and chassis bars near SF (auto innovations can't)

Yeah, my friend knows him from S2Ki. He also said he can't do them on my car either. I mean there are only so many people I trust to work on my car and 2 of them just denied me service... I don't know what's going on. Maybe if you could ask your buddy - I might have talked to someone else...

A shop to install front swaybar and chassis bars near SF (auto innovations can't)

Thanks for the recommendations... I actually took my car to Don for an oil change and it was kind of expensive ($100 vs. $70 from dealer)... but I'll definitely get a quote, thanks. Mike

A shop to install front swaybar and chassis bars near SF (auto innovations can't)

Hi all, Just got my NSX-R front swaybar and 2 chassis bars in. Unfortunately the only performance shop I've taken my car to says they can not do the install (Auto Innovations in Milpitas). Anyone have any recommendations?? I'm in SF but can probably drive an hour. Thanks! Mike Hughes
