So what's up with the Tech Inspection???
I understand it's for my safety and the safety of those around me. It's every owners responsibility to make sure his/her car is always in proper working order.
But...
"There is NO self-teching of your car unless you are a certified mechanic."
So am I to take time off work to get my car to a certified mechanic, and pay to have an inspection?
I'm a bit of a mechanical novice, and most of what I see on the list is easily checked yourself.
I understand it's for my safety and the safety of those around me. It's every owners responsibility to make sure his/her car is always in proper working order.
But...

This is for everyone in the groups safety and your own. Including other vehicles safety that aren't going with us.

Not if you have a mechanic that is already familiar with your car and service work that's been done that can sign it off.

If a mechanic is putting his name on a tech sheet, he will be sure to check out everything. If I do it, I would be inclined to just start checking things off the list and just send it in. I had some cords showing on my front tires that wasn't visable until it was on the lift. If your going somewhere near canyons, you should have it checked out anyway to be safe, canyon drive or not. No?
